About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Developing and executing sourcing strategies for assigned resin categories
Ensuring a reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply base
Partnering closely with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive commercial value
Managing supplier relationships, strategy, and business needs within assigned Commodity categories
Overseeing contract management and compliance
Travel to supplier and Amcor sites, applicable trade or industry events
Acquiring and maintaining in-depth knowledge of market forces and trends
Qualifying suppliers, creating risk assessments, and making recommendations
Presenting periodic comprehensive sourcing reviews of assigned commodity portfolio
Liaising between suppliers, international sourcing, divisional manufacturing, sales, R&D, and Purchasing department
Acting as project manager for cross-functional teams
Working with Division Managers to implement inventory strategy
Participating in the training and development of Purchasing staff

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a technical degree
10yrs experience in Purchasing and/or related industry experience required
High financial aptitude and preferably experience centered around financial analysis
In-depth knowledge of resin manufacturing and grade selection preferred
Experience with Commodity/Category management
Understanding of manufacturing and design, design software, materials composition, testing methods, and industry costing methods
Proven history of executing cost savings initiatives and strong project management experience
Ability to analyze data quickly, accurately, and make sound recommendations
Advanced project management skills
Experience with international business and sourcing preferred
Ability to negotiate with a high level of success
Displays results-oriented leadership style with strong influential skills
Ability to lead employees
Possess the skills required to make presentations to all levels of Management
High skill level with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to learn others as required.
