About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies for assigned resin categories
  • Ensuring a reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply base
  • Partnering closely with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive commercial value
  • Managing supplier relationships, strategy, and business needs within assigned Commodity categories
  • Overseeing contract management and compliance
  • Travel to supplier and Amcor sites, applicable trade or industry events
  • Acquiring and maintaining in-depth knowledge of market forces and trends
  • Qualifying suppliers, creating risk assessments, and making recommendations
  • Presenting periodic comprehensive sourcing reviews of assigned commodity portfolio
  • Liaising between suppliers, international sourcing, divisional manufacturing, sales, R&D, and Purchasing department
  • Acting as project manager for cross-functional teams
  • Working with Division Managers to implement inventory strategy
  • Participating in the training and development of Purchasing staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a technical degree
  • 10yrs experience in Purchasing and/or related industry experience required
  • High financial aptitude and preferably experience centered around financial analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of resin manufacturing and grade selection preferred
  • Experience with Commodity/Category management
  • Understanding of manufacturing and design, design software, materials composition, testing methods, and industry costing methods
  • Proven history of executing cost savings initiatives and strong project management experience
  • Ability to analyze data quickly, accurately, and make sound recommendations
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Experience with international business and sourcing preferred
  • Ability to negotiate with a high level of success
  • Displays results-oriented leadership style with strong influential skills
  • Ability to lead employees
  • Possess the skills required to make presentations to all levels of Management
  • High skill level with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to learn others as required.
