About the role
- Use caution and support facility systems to assure safety event free facilities
- Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures
- Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity
- Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment
- Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in associated training
- Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices
- Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
- Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions
- Respond to non-established procedures if they should arise
- Provide input to Product Development regarding mold or tooling design and sign-off on final design
- Work with all plants on tooling issues
- Work with the plants on installation and start-up of all new molds or tooling
- Optimize the performance of all molds or tooling within area of discipline
- Work with plant operations to provide input on continuous improvement of the tooling department
- Track mold or tooling prices for all projects to assure we are getting the best value
- Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years field experience in Engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches
- Speak, write, and read effectively in English
- Computer literate
- Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
