About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the central coordinator and lead writer for the Foundations & Corporate Relations grant development process
Manage grant workflows, timelines, and proposal submissions
Coordinate the operational capacity of the Foundation & Corporate Relations grants team, Public Grants staff, and external consultants
Coordinate and manage the full proposal development lifecycle
Establish submission timelines and facilitate collaboration among internal and external partners
Gather programmatic and financial information and ensure timely completion of proposal components
Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-writing activities across development, programs, finance, and subject matter experts
Draft, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and other funding materials
Conduct prospect research to identify and evaluate foundation and corporate funding opportunities
Recommend funding opportunities for leadership consideration
Develop strategic concept papers highlighting innovative practices and initiatives that advance and expand AltaMed’s programs and operations while supporting fundraising goals

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree in English, Public Health, Communications, or related field required
Minimum 7 years of grant writing and/or professional writing experience with demonstrated success
Proposal writing experience in healthcare or the nonprofit field preferred
Ability to coordinate grant workflows, timelines, and proposal submissions
Ability to draft, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and other funding-related materials
Prospect research and evaluation of foundation and corporate funding opportunities
Skills gathering programmatic and financial information and coordinating internal, external, and subject matter expert contributions
