General

• Lead and direct onsite personnel and subcontractors in the planning, coordination, and execution of work to ensure a quality project completed safely, on schedule, within budget, while promoting client relationships and the company’s image
• Effectively plan, schedule, oversee, and manage onsite activities of project to ensure project’s goals and schedules are met
• Possess a strong working knowledge of all project plans, specifications, owner contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, submittals, and maintain a complete and accurate set of as-built drawings
• Proactively schedule and coordinate all subcontractors to ensure project completion according to the schedule without additional costs
• Monitor subcontractors’ work to ensure it meets standards and specifications
• Handle project set-up including obtaining necessary equipment and signage, PPE
• Complete accurate daily reports, safety logs, equipment rentals, and cost coding
• Guide project to completion ensuring proper close-out and punch list process management
• Comply with all safety policies, report suspected safety concerns, and support company’s safety culture

• Responsible for assisting management in the general business operations of the company by overseeing and directing the company’s Safety Program for their assigned area(s).
• Ensure training all employees on the Safety Program and will act as a resource for safety related items.
• Protect the Company’s interests and support employees so that they can successfully complete a quality project safely.
• Promote and enhance client relationships and the company’s image.
• Support and promote Alston Construction’s strong safety culture, both internally and externally.
• Use discretion and independent judgment and professional skills to perform daily duties and to resolve issues.
• Plan, develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations (including Occupational Safety and Health Administration/OSHA).
• Make and implement recommendations to improve processes and procedures.
• Remain current on all federal, state, and local construction-related safety regulations and laws.
• Identify training needs in order to develop and implement safety awareness initiatives.
• Monitor, manage, and conduct new hire safety orientations within the first 5 business days of the employee’s date of hire.
• Monitor, manage, and conduct safety training.
• Manage workload and time related to safety training.
• Provide guidance, consultation, and reinforcement regarding safety policies and compliance.
• Evaluate and provide feedback on potential subcontractors’ safety records.
• Create and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and prepare detailed reports of findings.
• Ensure project field documentation related to safety is being properly processed and maintained.
• Review Alston Construction and subcontractor Site Specific Safety and Health Plans (SSHPs).
• Review submitted Chemical Inventory Lists and associated Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
• Investigate all incidents utilizing the Root Cause Analysis format.
• Assist with the preparation of material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
• Manage Worker’s Compensation claims and the return to work program under guidance.
• Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
