About the role
- Define, implement, and oversee operational strategy for a diverse vehicle testing fleet to support durability, environmental, and performance validation
- Partner with systems, sub-systems, software, and validation engineering teams to ensure fleet usage aligns with test objectives and development priorities
- Plan and manage vehicle-based validation activities, ensuring accurate data ingestion from real-world use cases, edge case scenarios, and specialized test events
- Establish and maintain fleet utilization and performance KPIs to drive efficiency, reliability, and data-driven decision-making
- Coordinate operations for installation, calibration, and operation of advanced instrumentation and measurement equipment (e.g., accelerometers, strain gauges, force transducers, CAN loggers)
- Lead defect triage and issue traceability, ensuring timely root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Manage vehicle test planning in alignment with global homologation, durability, and safety requirements
- Mentor and guide technicians and test operators, fostering best practices in fleet utilization, safety, and reliability engineering
- Continuously refine fleet operations, logistics, and data workflows to support rapid scaling and high-quality test results
Requirements
- Engineering or technical degree preferred or 8+ years in vehicle testing, fleet operations, or durability testing
- At least 3 years in a leadership or staff-level role
- Deep experience with vehicle instrumentation and data logging systems
- Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (e.g., JAMA)
- Experience with planning platforms (JIRA, Confluence)
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, SPI) and Vector tool proficiency
- Familiarity with global homologation requirements, including durability and compliance testing
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional test teams and managing large vehicle fleets
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and able to ride and evaluate two-wheeled vehicles across a range of power levels
- Commitment to safety standards, vehicle operation protocols, and regulatory compliance in all fleet activities
