About the role
- Populate and control monthly Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) indicators and report them on the ALS SharePoint;
- Prepare charts and statistics for near misses, accidents, behavioral observations and unsafe conditions;
- Prepare EHS technical presentations and training materials;
- Deliver training for new employees on accident prevention rules through Basic Orientation Training and other required trainings;
- Review and control technical documentation of third-party service providers on site;
- Support the preparation of Environment, Health and Safety documentation;
- Inform all departments and area managers about hazards and associated risks to promote adoption of control measures;
- Monitor and analyze work methods and processes, identifying potential accident scenarios;
- Visit active contracts and inspect on-site work routines to ensure compliance with safety standards;
- Implement accident and occupational disease prevention programs with employee participation through campaigns, talks, seminars, meetings and training;
- Prepare Preliminary Risk Analyses (PRA) and review PRAs from service providers, approving preventive measures and adding new measures when necessary;
- Analyze workplace accidents, compile accident statistics and diagnostics, and identify root causes;
- Develop an action plan to prevent recurrence of incidents;
- Participate in and support daily safety talks (Daily Safety Dialogue - DDS), advising and guiding departments to minimize risks and incidents;
- Ensure inspections of safety and firefighting equipment, verifying proper functioning and requesting corrective actions to maintain workplace safety;
- Manage the Fire Brigade (organize drills, meeting minutes, drill reports, etc.) and respond to health and fire emergencies when required;
- Ensure compliance with labor and occupational safety legislation, as well as ALS policies and compliance rules;
- Conduct workplace inspections at the unit(s);
- Identify needs, distribute, control and monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
Requirements
- Willing to travel;
- Technical qualification in Occupational Safety with active professional registration;
- Valid driver's license (Category B);
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment;
- Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel & Word);
- Proactive with strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Enjoy working with people.
