About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the company’s compliance with primary and ancillary tax obligations in accordance with federal, state and municipal legislation, handling higher complexity tasks and operating with autonomy in analyses and processes.
- Perform detailed tax calculations for direct taxes (such as IRPJ and CSLL) and indirect taxes (such as ISS, PIS and COFINS) under different tax regimes (Presumed Profit and Real Profit regimes).
- Calculate, withhold and remit taxes, issuing the corresponding payment slips.
- Prepare, review and submit mandatory tax filings, such as SPED Contribuições (PIS/COFINS), DCTF, ECF, REINF and other municipal obligations.
- Ensure correct recording of fiscal documents (purchases, sales and services) in the system, validating the information.
- Analyze and reconcile accounting accounts related to taxes, ensuring alignment between fiscal and accounting records.
- Review tax legislation and fiscal procedures, identifying opportunities for tax optimization and risks.
- Provide support for and respond to tax inspections (federal, state and municipal) and internal/external audits, supplying data and documentation.
- Manage and follow up on outstanding tax issues until resolution.
- Monitor and apply ongoing changes in tax legislation.
- Propose improvements and automation to tax processes and the systems used.
- Provide support and guidance to internal departments (Accounting, Finance, Purchasing, etc.) on tax-related matters.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration or related fields.
- Proven experience in the tax area, with autonomy to manage daily tasks and handle medium-complexity issues.
- Deep knowledge of calculating direct and indirect taxes and of ancillary obligations.
- Solid understanding of tax legislation (PIS, COFINS, ISS, IRPJ, CSLL).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Totvs/Protheus or similar) and fiscal tools.
- Computer skills: strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel (for analyses, reports and controls).
