About the role
- Part of the international finance team
- Serve as a key interface between internal teams and external stakeholders
- Responsible for all payroll-related tasks across multiple entities, primarily in Austria and Germany
- Reconcile the monthly payroll provided by the external payroll provider
- Collect and review timesheet data and payroll information
- Prepare accruals and ledger entries for accounting and maintain control of payroll files
- Update payroll systems, including onboarding and offboarding actions
- Calculate salaries, overtime, commissions, bonuses, vacation days, etc.
- Provide monthly payroll data to the external payroll provider
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve employee and stakeholder concerns
- Maintain accurate records in the employee database and payroll documentation
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of proven experience as a payroll specialist
- Experience with German and Austrian payroll
- Excellent German language skills (C1 or above)
- Fluent English (B2 or above)
- Strong numerical aptitude
- Interest in accounting principles and payroll practices
- Good knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant legislation and regulations for the jurisdictions
- Trustworthy with a strong focus on confidentiality and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
