About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain deep expertise in U.S. GAAP revenue recognition, including ASC 606 and SaaS subscriptions
- Interpret and analyze customer contracts to extract key financial and accounting implications
- Lead the monthly close and reporting process (revenue and expense), including journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of staff work
- Assist the Controller in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls across all accounting processes
- Apply accounting guidance to complex scenarios and prepare clear, well-supported technical memos
- Support and contribute to the annual audit process
- Partner cross-functionally to improve processes across the revenue cycle
- Directly manage, coach, develop, and evaluate accounting personnel
- Drive enhancements in systems and processes, including ERP implementation efforts
- Lead or support special projects as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and transactional accounting
- 4+ years of deep technical experience with strong working knowledge and practical application of ASC 606
- 1+ years of people-management experience
- CPA strongly preferred
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, dynamic environment
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate insights clearly to management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cross-functional relationships
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Experience with financial systems (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Workday) preferred
- Experience with system implementations preferred
- Familiarity with or curiosity about leveraging Microsoft 365 Copilot preferred
