About the role

  • Perform development, maintenance and continuous improvement of portals using the HCL platform (HCL Digital Experience, formerly known as IBM WebSphere Portal).
  • Implement new features and optimize the performance of corporate portals, ensuring high availability and a positive user experience.
  • Gather requirements from clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure requirements are well defined and that the solution meets expectations.
  • Develop and implement platform-specific customizations for HCL, including creating custom components, widgets, and themes.
  • Integrate the portal with other internal and external systems using APIs and other technologies to ensure interoperability.
  • Provide technical support to operations teams and end users, identifying and resolving portal-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems related to the HCL platform, ensuring rapid resolution.
  • Plan and execute functional, performance and security tests, ensuring delivered portals meet quality and security requirements.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation for developed solutions, including operation manuals and user guides.
  • Keep documentation up to date as changes and improvements are made to the portal.
  • Participate in the full project lifecycle, from planning through implementation to final delivery.
  • Ensure deadlines and quality of deliverables are met, working collaboratively with project teams.
  • Stay current with the latest developments and best practices for the HCL platform and related technologies.
  • Share knowledge with team members and assist in training more junior developers when needed.

Requirements

  • HCL Digital Experience (HCL DX) Platform:
  • - Advanced knowledge of the HCL Digital Experience platform (formerly IBM WebSphere Portal), including its features, capabilities and administration tools.
  • - Experience using HCL DX for development, customization and integration of corporate portals.
  • - Preferred: Certification in HCL Digital Experience.
  • Web Development Tools:
  • - Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript and React for backend and frontend development.
  • - Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and XML for building and customizing interfaces.
  • Integration Tools and APIs:
  • - Experience integrating systems using RESTful APIs and Web Services (SOAP).
  • Versioning and Collaboration Tools:
  • - Experience using version control systems such as Git to manage source code.
  • - Familiarity with GitLab for task tracking and agile project management.
  • - Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.
