About the role
- Lead Alma's platform transformation, owning the platform roadmap and accelerating delivery of customer value.
- Increase developer productivity and satisfaction through platform improvements and pervasive adoption of AI-powered solutions; drive improvements in DORA metrics.
- Optimize infrastructure and operational excellence, including strategic cost optimization and architectural rollouts to improve speed, quality, and scalability.
- Champion an AI-first, data-driven culture with consistent use of DORA metrics and KPIs to inform decisions.
- Act as a force multiplier for the CTO, orchestrating strategic and operational initiatives and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Directly manage Infra and DevX platform teams and guide the build-out of a software platform group.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, InfoSec, IT, and Product; present platform strategies and roadmaps to stakeholders.
- Organize departmental skill development activities and drive financial and resource analysis to identify efficiency opportunities.
Requirements
- Strategic & Transformational Leadership: track record of defining and leading large-scale technical transformations; practitioner of Transformational Leadership, Generative Culture, and "Shift Left" principles.
- Deep Technical and Operational Expertise: deep understanding and practical experience with modern software development lifecycle practices, including DevOps and continuous delivery; proven experience leading multiple teams and driving operational excellence; background in platform teams or history of adopting platforms effectively.
- Data-Driven Influence & Accountability: highly analytical and data-driven; demonstrated success in defining, tracking, and acting upon key engineering metrics; exceptional communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.
- AI-First Mindset & Implementation: demonstrated history of identifying, deploying, and driving pervasive adoption of new tools, emphasizing leveraging AI to maximize utility for a large group of engineers.
- Direct leadership experience managing Infra and DevX platform teams and guiding build-out of software platform groups.
