Finance Business Partner – Technology

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a key finance partner to Technology stakeholders, providing clear insight, commercial challenge and decision support on priorities, investments and trade-offs
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to influence decision-making and drive accountability for financial performance
- Support Technology leadership in understanding cost drivers, risks and opportunities across the portfolio
- Own the budgeting and reforecasting processes for Technology cost centres, ensuring assumptions are robust, transparent and aligned to business priorities
- Drive improved forecast accuracy through active engagement with stakeholders and clear tracking of risks and opportunities
- Provide ongoing visibility of performance (actuals vs forecast), highlighting key variances and actions required
- Bring structure and control to a complex cost base spanning projects, suppliers and ongoing operations
- Improve cost transparency across Technology spend, enabling clearer understanding and better decision-making
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting, maintaining strong financial discipline across the function
- Support month-end close and ensure financial outputs are robust and well understood
- Provide financial input and challenge on Technology initiatives, including business cases, investment decisions and prioritisation
- Support the development of cost frameworks, models and tools to enable more consistent and informed decision-making
- Analyse contractor, supplier and licence spend to identify cost optimisation opportunities and improve efficiency
- Develop clear, concise and high-quality reporting packs (including actuals vs forecast, risks and opportunities, and spend outlook)
- Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Continually improve reporting and insight to enhance visibility, transparency and decision-making across Technology
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified accountant
- Experience of working in Technology environments is a big plus
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with ability to translate data into clear insights
- Strong experience working with large, complex datasets to drive analysis and decision-making
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to apply this to decision making and recommendations
- Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Ability to work independently, create own priorities and manage upwards accordingly
- Presentation skills and experience influencing business stakeholders
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change frequently
- Displays excellent attention to detail
- Understanding of Lottery/Gaming industry beneficial
- Use of Enterprise Financial Systems such as forecasting and data visualisation tools. SAP/SAC a plus.
