About the role

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the corporation and outside legal counsel, coordinating all legal work requiring external expertise
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and management of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to business operations, vendor relationships, and regulatory matters
  • Support the formation, maintenance, and dissolution of corporate entities, including filings and recordkeeping for multiple locations
  • Facilitate compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations across all company sites
  • Maintain accurate and organized corporate records, including minutes, resolutions, and filings
  • Track and manage deadlines for regulatory filings, litigation matters, and compliance requirements
  • Assist with internal audits and compliance reporting related to labor, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, providing timely updates and recommendations to leadership
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and case materials for management and legal counsel
  • Organize and maintain legal files, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility
  • Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and industry standards to support decision-making and risk management
  • Work closely with business leaders, operations, HR, and other departments to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions
  • Support contract negotiations and modifications to accommodate changing business needs

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience as a paralegal in a corporate or manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations and working with outside legal counsel
  • Solid knowledge of corporate law, contract administration, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
