About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Inspect properties damaged by wind, hail, water, lightning, fire, and other perils
Drive to properties and conduct damage inspections
Evaluate policies and endorsements to determine coverage
Prepare estimates in the Xactimate program
Settle claims on site with customers
Handle claims remotely through the ClaimsX Video Collaboration platform when travel or weather prevents on-site inspections
Investigate property claims through detailed damage reviews and policy interpretation
Communicate with customers by phone, email, and video chat, respecting communication preferences
Evaluate and negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
Use estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms to resolve claims
Execute policies according to policy agreements
Maintain clear, timely, and accurate claim documentation in the claims system

Requirements

What you’ll need

Valid driver's license
Willingness to travel 90% of the time, including overnight travel, anywhere in the United States
Ability to work weekends and holidays based on the claims schedule
Ability to carry a 50-pound ladder
Ability to access up to a 6/12 pitch on a one- or two-story roof
Must be at least 21 to rent a vehicle under Allstate policy
Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle claims countrywide
Minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/50 MB up when working remotely
Position unavailable to residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, or Puerto Rico
Ability to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire if required by the office/area
Active insurance license holders must terminate existing appointments and cannot hold outside appointments during employment
Strong critical thinking and technical skills preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail preferred
Previous outside adjuster experience highly desired
Proficiency in Xactimate or other relevant estimating software preferred
Must submit to a background investigation
Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
