About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead frontline security operations across all shifts for the US SOC
Own, define, track, and interpret SOC operational metrics and KPIs, including MTTD, MTTR, alert quality, false-positive rates, detection coverage, and SLA adherence
Use operational data to drive resource allocation, workflow, threat mitigation, and improvement projects
Coach, mentor, and develop analysts and incident handlers, including career paths from L1 to L3
Establish operating rhythms including shift turnover, quality reviews, and performance reporting
Identify pain points and lead process improvement, tooling optimization, and SIEM/SOAR automation opportunities
Provide senior management support to Global Security Operations across US, Ireland, and India operations
Communicate operational performance and improvement outcomes through reporting and dashboards for technical teams and senior leadership
Drive faster and more effective SOC operations, improved detection coverage, precise alerting, reliable SLA performance, talent development, retention, and high-impact improvement projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Prior leadership experience within a Security Operations Center (SOC), including firsthand experience running the floor
6+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or a related cybersecurity discipline
4+ years of people management experience, including managing analysts and coordinating a global team
Experience developing, maintaining, and interpreting operational metrics, KPIs, and SLAs
Proven ability to lead operational improvement projects from identification through delivery of measurable results
Advanced technical knowledge of network and endpoint security, common attacker techniques, and SIEM/SOAR detection-and-response tooling
Experience defining and operating metrics, dashboards, and reporting for a 24x7 operational service
Experience supporting or coordinating operations across a global footprint, including scheduling, turnover, and team cohesion
Familiarity with automation and process-improvement approaches that reduce analyst toil and improve response speed
History of developing individual contributors into stronger operators and future leaders
One or more industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent are preferred
Required background investigation
