About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation.
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Interview clients and witnesses, as well as composing summaries of their statements.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to represent as needed.

Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis.
- Strong time management skills.
- Capable of organizing case files and managing legal documents.
- Skilled in communicating with clients and preparing summaries.
- Well-versed in legal ethics and standards of professional conduct.
- Equipped with negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions.
- Must be commutable distance to courthouses throughout New York.
