About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation
  • Draft, review, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents for attorney review and approval
  • Prepare and manage written discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses and coordinating document production
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, expert witness activities, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and other litigation-related events
  • Order, review, organize, and maintain medical records, billing records, and other case-related documentation
  • Prepare exhibits, case summaries, witness files, and other materials in support of hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Handle electronic filing and service of legal documents in accordance with applicable court rules and procedures
  • Monitor case deadlines, court requirements, and litigation calendars to ensure timely and compliant case management
  • Maintain organized litigation files, including claim files, discovery materials, expert records, and case documentation
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, expert witnesses, vendors, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders to support case progression

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance defense, bodily injury, or civil litigation
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, court filings, and trial preparation
  • Familiarity with Maryland litigation practices and electronic court filing systems is strongly preferred
  • Experience coordinating expert witnesses, depositions, and other litigation-related activities
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
