About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception through resolution.
- Represent Allstate and insureds in first-party property matters.
- Prepare and argue substantive legal pleadings.
- Conduct and defend depositions, attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Provide strategic legal guidance to claims partners and internal stakeholders.
- Gather, evaluate, and organize case materials in support of litigation strategy.
- Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar required
- Juris Doctor required
- 4+ years of litigation experience with demonstrated ability to independently manage cases
- Prior experience handling first-party property, homeowner, or weather-related claims strongly preferred
- Background in insurance defense and litigation strategy development
- Proven experience with depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage a litigation-focused caseload with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills and ability to partner with business stakeholders.
- Must be able to support court appearances throughout the DFW area.
