About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Leads the Specialty Operations reinsurance claims function, overseeing complex environmental and latent injury exposures
- Responsible for strategic leadership, operational excellence, and team development
- Directs the handling and resolution of complex claims involving asbestos bodily injury
- Oversees investigations, evaluating coverage, liability, damages, and contractual obligations
- Reviews and approves coverage strategies ensuring consistency and adherence to organizational standards
- Establishes and refines claims processes to improve efficiency and outcomes
- Partners with Legal, Finance, Risk Management, and stakeholders to manage risk and resolve complex issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of relevant claims, insurance, or reinsurance experience
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and direct reports
- Advanced expertise in environmental and mass tort claims
- Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance contracts, coverage interpretation, and case law
- Deep understanding of claims processes, systems, and regulatory requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
