About the role
- Represents insured individuals and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits.
- Review new file assignments and approve initial pleadings.
- Manage all aspects of PIP/no-fault litigation from case inception through resolution.
- Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation, as appropriate.
- Conduct settlements/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.).
- Prepare and conduct court appearances and conduct depositions.
- Keeps claim business partners updated on status and engage in various litigation responsibilities.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts state bar.
- 1+ years of litigation experience, within Subrogation, Insurance Defense, or related fields.
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis.
- Strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Capable of organizing case files and managing legal documents.
- Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
- Well-versed in legal ethics and standards of professional conduct.
- Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
