About the role

  • Represents insured individuals and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits.
  • Review new file assignments and approve initial pleadings.
  • Manage all aspects of PIP/no-fault litigation from case inception through resolution.
  • Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation, as appropriate.
  • Conduct settlements/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.).
  • Prepare and conduct court appearances and conduct depositions.
  • Keeps claim business partners updated on status and engage in various litigation responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts state bar.
  • 1+ years of litigation experience, within Subrogation, Insurance Defense, or related fields.
  • Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis.
  • Strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Capable of organizing case files and managing legal documents.
  • Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
  • Well-versed in legal ethics and standards of professional conduct.
  • Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
