About the role
- Lead the Data Transformation Journey
- Drive migration from on-prem SQL Server to cloud platforms implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing databases
- Mentor a small team of DBAs, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
- Ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of databases across hybrid environments aligning to Allstate security requirements
- Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance in cloud and hybrid setups aligning to Allstate security requirements
- Work closely with Enterprise engineering aligning Investments with enterprise data strategy
- Work closely with Investments product and business teams aligning with organizational goals
Requirements
- 10+ years in database administration with strong expertise in SQL Server (Oracle experience is a plus)
- 3+ years in Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and OneLake is a strong plus
- Proven experience coaching DBA teams and driving large-scale database migrations
- Database performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery
- Familiarity with Delta Lake, Parquet, and modern data architectures
- Strong understanding of security and compliance in cloud environments
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking
