About the role
- Handle no-fault, bodily injury, and property damage insurance defense lawsuits, including trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Manage all aspects of litigation from case inception to verdict: assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions.
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research; prepare for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
- Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, and precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Interview clients and witnesses; draft summaries and maintain communication records.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and legal proceedings; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update the legal team on impacts to ongoing cases.
- Provide counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams.
- Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and exposure to complex legal work.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis.
- Strong time management skills; ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process.
- Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
- Well-versed in legal ethics and standards of professional conduct.
- Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
- Experience or ability to handle insurance defense litigation including no-fault, bodily injury, and property damage cases (trials, arbitrations, mediations).

- Must be within commutable distance to courthouses throughout Los Angeles County, California.
