About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Processes requests for patient transportation
  • Ensures proper medical necessity (if possible)
  • Coordinates any pre-approvals (if necessary)
  • Assists with Physician Certification Statement (PCS) completion and compliance with requesting facilities
  • Answers phone calls and provide exceptional customer service
  • Monitors the location of ground assets to ensure accurate tracking to meet the transport need
  • Utilizes the CAD system to enter call information and assign assets efficiently
  • Works with mutual aid agencies to coordinate transport needs
  • Ensures paperwork compliance and crew feedback processes
  • Provides logistics support and restocking of assets
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and keeping the operation organized

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certified Dispatcher (preferred)
  • Current or previous medical certification or license (EMT, Paramedic, Clinical Associate, Medical Assistant, RN, etc.) (preferred)
  • At least Two (2) years of experience as a dispatcher
  • At least Two (2) years as a medical provider (EMT, Paramedic, Clinical Associate, Medical Assistant, RN, etc.)
  • Experience in the EMS industry
  • Experience in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems (Zoll and/or Zeurcher)
  • Experience in EMS billing, coding, and compliance
