About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect and test a wide range of electrical systems and Local Exhaust Ventilation equipment
- Carry out inspections of electrical plant and LEV systems in accordance with relevant legislation and standards
- Perform Periodic Inspection & Testing and complete EICRs for industrial and commercial installations and associated electrical apparatus
- Examine LEV plant including fans, ducting, hoods, and filtration systems
- Produce clear, accurate reports and certification
- Identify defects and provide practical, safety-driven recommendations
- Build strong customer relationships and provide technical guidance and support
- Manage an autonomous schedule, including planning meetings, visits, and work allocation
- Ensure activities meet Allianz quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Travel regularly to clients' sites within the allocated local work area
- Deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current knowledge and understanding of relevant compliance and regulatory rules and procedures for the Electrical / LEV discipline
- Ability to plan short-, medium-, and long-term work, including diarising meetings, visits, and work allocation
- Ability to travel effectively within the allocated local work area
- Ability to process documentation and undertake general administration
- Team-player capability, including deputising for fellow Engineer Surveyors when required
- Practical background in low-voltage wiring installation, inspection or maintenance, and fault finding across factories, houses, shops, and similar environments
- Minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
- BS7671:2018 (18th Edition), C&G2391 Inspection & Testing, or equivalent
- Awareness of Local Exhaust Ventilation systems and understanding of COSHH Regulations
- UK Driver’s License
- Aptitude for planning and ability to prioritise own workload
- Strong customer interaction skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage is desirable
