About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct hands-on inspections of plant and equipment at factories, warehouses, and other commercial premises
- Work closely with the Engineer Surveyor Team under the management of a Senior Operations Team Leader
- Prepare electronic reports of examination following inspections
- Assess installations, anticipate problems, and help clients comply with relevant legislation
- Examine pressure vessels, boilers, and other equipment
- Support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors in the same discipline when required
- Organise meetings, visits, and work allocation
- Process documentation and complete general administration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Up to date knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory rules and procedures relating to the Pressure Mechanical discipline
- At least a Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or actively working towards an equivalent credential
- Background working with steam generation, compressed air, and associated plant
- Experience ideally including manufacturing (QA and production), maintenance and operation, repair, and site inspection
- Strong customer interaction skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Full valid UK driving licence
- Effective time management skills and ability to independently organise weekly work
- Comfortable using tablets and smartphones as part of the working day
- Willingness to make informed decisions and take responsibility
- Ability to plan short-, medium-, and long-term work
- Ability to travel effectively within the allocated local work area
- Ability to process documentation and undertake general administration in a timely manner
- Incorporated Engineer status is desirable
- Understanding of Responsible AI principles is desirable
