About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and send requests for proposals (RFPs) to carriers, including necessary follow-up
  • Solicit bids for clients from carriers and vendors
  • Monitor receipt of bids to ensure quotes are timely and meet specifications
  • Communicate negotiated rate and plan design alternatives to the respective client service team member
  • Create accurate and consistently formatted proposals
  • Review peer proposals for accuracy
  • Develop and maintain carrier relationships
  • Keep abreast of legislative, market, and product changes
  • Attend and actively participate in marketing meetings
  • Work long hours during busy season, if needed
  • Comply with agency management system data standards and maintain complete and accurate information
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One (1) or more years of experience working for a group insurance carrier or benefits brokerage firm
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem solving, planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with high-level attention to detail
  • Ability to interface with internal and external executives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
