Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems supporting core organizational functions
Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize networked software and associated operating systems
Collaborate with infrastructure staff to ensure reliable operation of software and systems
Define business requirements and systems goals with executives, decision makers, and stakeholders
Identify and resolve business systems issues
Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems
Perform cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for proposed systems
Research software and systems products and support purchasing recommendations
Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors for system-related products and services
Provide operational support for integration and M&A activities
Evaluate system effectiveness and efficiency and implement improvement strategies
Create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts
Design and perform server and security audits, backup procedures, and recovery processes
Integrate database, email, print, and backup servers and associated software into enterprise systems
Ensure connectivity of servers, shared software, groupware, and applications
Maintain system configuration, mapping, process, and service documentation
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
Coordinate and perform in-depth testing, including end-user reviews
Monitor and test system performance and deliver performance statistics and reports
Provide orientation and training to end users
Mentor and guide System Engineers
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ten (10) or more years of System Engineering experience
Proven experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems and applications
Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Good project management skills
Ability to research systems issues and products as required
Ability to communicate ideas in technical and user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
