About the role

  • Assist in prospecting and media list development for celebrities, ambassadors, thought leadership, local and national news
  • Work with platforms such as Critical Mention, MuckRack and more to assist in tracking, monitoring and reporting for the UNICEF USA Brand Marketing & Communications team to track audience, publicity value and earned coverage
  • Assist with creating briefing materials for coordinated interviews around key moments
  • Attend weekly department meetings to learn about and support key moments and ongoing initiatives (ex. International Day of Play, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF planning)
  • Assist with event attendance tracking methods and benchmarking for brand experiences
  • Support the Thought Leadership team in podcasts, conferences and media research for UNICEF USA's Executive Voice opportunities
  • Support across the Brand Marketing & Communications team with other research, language drafting, editing and more
  • Analyze media trends and existing news coverage as related to UNICEF initiatives, breaking news, humanitarian issues and more
  • Support the growth of the Influencer Program by researching and vetting prospective celebrities in the social media space
  • Assist with organizing media databases to support teams with targeted campaigns and projects

Requirements

  • Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program
  • Interest in public relations, external communications, marketing, and entertainment industry preferred
  • Experience with monitoring and reporting
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Passion for child rights advocacy
  • Previous public relations or external communications experience is a plus
  • Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
