Develop and maintain relationships with distributors to influence Allegion market share for commercial hardware and electronic security solutions
Use a consultative selling approach and regular pattern of calls to achieve company goals
Support business partner initiatives to maximize sales results and coordinate to create demand, develop/execute strategy, and close orders
Participate in joint sales calls and training; attend local, regional and/or national trade shows and association meetings
Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers including sales, marketing, engineering, customer and technical services, and operations
Collaborate with team members to position Allegion to close using a team selling approach
Advise customers on product mix, applications, and promotions; suggest new products or adaptations
Follow up on job quotes with distributors to secure projects and ensure favorable product mix
Maintain industry/territory knowledge and review market data of competitive activity
Maintain and utilize CRM tool for sales reporting and to communicate sales activities
Ensure customers and partners are trained on products and drive adoption of customer-facing tools including Allegion’s portal
Use social networking to build relationships and stay engaged in industry activity
Maintain awareness of Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure compliance; embody Allegion’s values daily
Requirements
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.
5+ years sales or industry experience; B2B sales experience preferred
Openness to development and continuing education
High School Diploma required; Degree in Sales, Business or Marketing is a plus
Ability to have daily presence in the field, face to face with customers
Outstanding communication and follow-up skills with bias for action
Knowledge of the door, frame and hardware or a parallel business is a plus
Proficient w/ MS Office tools
Ability to learn industry specific software
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
Ability to travel up to 40%
Ideal candidate will live within Greater Des Moines, Iowa to effectively call on customers in the territory.
