About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a senior systems engineering leader integrating business strategy, customer requirements, and technical architecture
- Partner with Product Management, Marketing, UX, Operations, Cybersecurity, and Engineering
- Lead global teams of software systems engineers
- Establish and evolve systems engineering frameworks
- Own system-level architecture and technical decision-making
- Lead the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) governing body
- Balance scope, cost, schedule, and risk across multi-team initiatives
- Oversee portfolio-level risk management
- Lead Technical Design Reviews
- Evaluate and present system design trade-offs
- Ensure clear requirements definition, traceability, and verification strategies
- Champion data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement
- Act as a senior technical escalation point
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or software-intensive product development
- 5+ years of people leadership experience
- Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering fundamentals
- Strong ability to operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and business
- Experience leading complex, multi-team programs
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices and SSDLC leadership
- Experience with cloud architectures, connected products, wireless technologies, and mobile applications
- Preferred: Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP)
