Supervises mechanics in overall maintenance operation, including preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in compliance with 14 CFR, manufacturer specifications, the GMM, Company policy and procedures and FAA/OSHA requirements.
Plans and prioritizes work to minimize delays, increase production and efficiency, and assure timely delivery of aircraft.
Supports other maintenance base operations and coordinates Company-wide interests.
Determines job standards, tests personnel productivity, safety habits and workmanship.
Trains and assists mechanics in proper procedures, methods and practices and evaluates effectiveness of the OJT program.
Supervises handling and operation of shop equipment, ground equipment, vehicles, fuel dispensing equipment and tools to ensure safety and serviceability.
Ensures OSHA/safety guidelines are followed and provides safety training as required.
Ensures adherence to material handling and control procedures and coordinates with Materials team to ensure required materials arrive as needed.
Provides timely and accurate information on aircraft status and communicates to Maintenance Control the status of aircraft serviceability and readiness.
Oversees completion of shift turnover reports, conducts shift meetings and participates in management meetings.
Ensures departmental forms, maintenance records, work orders and manual revision compliance are completed accurately; monitors and updates timekeeping and payroll entries; investigates pay issues.
Understands, communicates and enforces company policies and procedures; recommends changes to GMM to improve operations.
Coordinates with human resources regarding leaves of absence, compensation, benefits and EAP.
May coordinate with vendors to ensure building maintenance, uniform, janitorial and other services are provided timely.
Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring; coaches, directs, motivates and supervises direct reports; appraises performance and oversees training and development.
Stands in for Maintenance Manager in his/her absence and performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered.
Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (engineering, Aviation Management, or related field preferred).
Associate's Degree with FAA A&P License will be accepted.
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
Minimum six (6) years A&P experience on similar aircraft.
Minimum four (4) years of supervisor experience.
Preferred: valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Preferred: Must possess the required tools.
Preferred: Able to work both in a team setting and individually.
Preferred: Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a stressful environment.
Preferred: Must be able to communicate in an effective, calm and professional manner at all times.
