About the role

  • Ensure that all safety policies and regulations are respected and complied with within all of the department's activities and areas as they relate to [14 CFR Part 5].
  • Perform safety observations and evaluations, monitoring of audit performance and investigation of incidents and reported safety hazards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure Allegiant Air meets the regulatory requirements of [14 CFR Part 121.373].
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SMS by the guidance contained in [14 CFR Part 5].
  • Monitor the operation for potential non-compliance events, Voluntary Disclosures, or other investigable events.
  • Ensure the management of the department's Team Member Safety Reporting Program.
  • Monitor any new changes or additions to current departmental operations.
  • Coordinate monthly CASS board meetings and other department safety meetings.
  • Perform self-audits regularly to ensure programs and associated functions are performing at the intended level.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Maintenance Safety Programs by applying industry best practices.
  • Assist in event-specific investigations into all safety-related aspects of company operations.
  • Coordinate with specific departments’ leadership to set measurable safety objectives (goals).

Requirements

  • Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Education Details: Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Certification: Yes
  • Certification Details: FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required
  • Minimum eight (8) years of air carrier experience.
  • Minimum six (6) years of A&P experience on aircraft similar to Allegiant's current fleet, primarily Airbus A319, A320, and Boeing 737 MAX 8 is required.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience supervising others.
  • Minimum four (4) years of aviation safety and/or line or heavy maintenance experience.
  • Proven exposure to Aviation CASS Programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of Aviation Maintenance programs and the associated FARs surrounding them.
  • Understanding of system safety principles and safety management systems.
  • SMS course or equivalent proficiency.
  • Understanding of Safety Risk Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High computer literacy including data analysis, database, and word processing software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with external department stakeholders with a focus on continuous improvement of business practices.
  • Conduct all interactions within the Allegiant Customer Service Principles.
