About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support training events by portraying assigned roles in scripted and semi-scripted scenarios
  • Understand scenarios and react appropriately to candidates’ or students’ responses
  • Adjust intensity and responses based on student performance and the desired learning outcome
  • Participate in practical exercises and Field Training Exercises in rural and urban environments
  • Perform in urban/mounted operations training, including scenarios involving blank-firing weapons
  • Simulate combat using blank ammunition, simunitions, paintball, and pyrotechnics
  • Integrate into scenarios involving hostile forces, ambushes, snipers, friendly forces, police, host-nation civilians, and terrorists
  • Portray assigned roles, stay in character, apply independent judgment, and improvise when directed
  • Portray foreign nationals and accurately represent relevant cultures
  • Wear costumes appropriate to assigned roles
  • Undergo regular searches, including thorough pat-down searches conducted by students
  • Follow training standards, security rules, safety rules, policies, procedures, and instructions
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers, supervisors, government personnel, and others
  • Support unit training execution and after-action reviews
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma
  • Able to speak, read and write English
  • Must have an active and valid US Driver’s License
  • Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a Public Trust security clearance
  • One (1) year of experience as a Role Player preferred
  • Experience in improvisational or semi-scripted acting preferred
  • Good understanding of and/or familiarity with foreign culture
  • Ability to appear and portray foreign nationals, including the Middle East and Africa
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to evaluate and respond realistically to actions of other role players, including U.S. government personnel
  • Ability to provide accurate cultural knowledge of the region being duplicated in the mission
  • Ability to improvise convincing reactions to changing and unscripted character and trainee movements
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and tactical field conditions
  • Ability to work irregular and unscheduled hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to complete regular and recurring physical and mental exertion, long periods of standing, climbing stairs, and walking on uneven ground
  • Ability to work effectively around numerous personnel and pyrotechnics
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen; employees are subject to random drug screens

  • Compensation range of $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, negotiable depending upon education and experience
