About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and lead the combined Construction and Manufacturing Practices as a single business unit
  • Own practice-level client portfolio outcomes including retention, satisfaction, NPS, and expansion
  • Serve as escalation point for complex or at-risk client situations beyond CFO level
  • Set quality standards for construction financial advisory work, including job costing, WIP, AIA billing, bonding support, and cash-flow forecasting
  • Set quality standards for manufacturing financial advisory work, including cost accounting, inventory management, ERP integration, and variance analysis
  • Drive service expansion through CFOs and define ideal client profiles
  • Close qualified construction and manufacturing opportunities surfaced by Business Development
  • Deliver workbook analysis and Value Workshops
  • Develop strategic partnerships across construction and manufacturing sectors
  • Hire, develop, retain, and hold CFOs accountable across both practices
  • Manage capacity across both practices and create career pathways
  • Own combined P&L, revenue, costs, profitability, budget, and practice plans
  • Report practice performance to the EVP, Operations using EOS tools including Scorecard, Rocks, and L10 meetings
  • Drive process improvements and monitor the trajectory toward eventually splitting the practices
  • Build external thought leadership and referral partnerships in both industries
  • Maintain current knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, ERP trends, and market developments
  • Champion technology standards and identify new service lines or delivery approaches
  • Complete time tracking, capacity planning, quarterly Rocks, Brand Ambassador participation, and security responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 12–15+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial leadership
  • Ideally exposure to construction, manufacturing, or both sectors
  • Proven track record of Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA)
  • Comfort operating across two industries simultaneously
  • Deep expertise in either construction finance or manufacturing finance, with working familiarity with the other
  • Construction expertise may include job cost accounting, WIP management, percentage-of-completion, and bonding/construction contract finance
  • Manufacturing expertise may include cost accounting, standard costing, inventory management, and ERP-based manufacturing financial strategy
  • Demonstrated experience owning client portfolios and practice-level business outcomes
  • P&L ownership or business unit management experience strongly preferred
  • Established nonprofit-sector presence or network with credibility to represent AIOA externally
  • Executive-level communication with nonprofit leaders, boards, and external advisors
  • Experience in or strong familiarity with EOS preferred
  • Internal AIOA CFO candidates may be considered if ready for practice leadership
  • Ability to work remotely across geography
