About the role

  • Work with customers and subject matter experts to capture and document business requirements and translate business and technical requirements for engineering
  • Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensure clear communication of requirements to the development team
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is well-organized, prioritized, and aligned with the product roadmap and business objectives
  • Continuously refine and adjust priorities based on customer feedback, business needs, and technical feasibility
  • Lead a cross-functional Scrum team, including developers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality releases
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the Scrum team to facilitate communication and collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scope, timelines and resource requirements for features and enhancements
  • Lead relevant Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ensure the team adheres to Agile best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Monitor sprint progress, maintain velocity metrics, and adjust priorities as needed to meet sprint goals and deliverables
  • Act as the voice of the customer, leveraging feedback, analytics, and insights to prioritize features that maximize customer value
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, customer support, and other teams to ensure successful go-to-market strategies and user adoption
  • Present product updates, plans, and performance metrics to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of product increments that meet quality standards and business objectives
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product initiatives
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact project timelines or deliverables
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate release status updates effectively
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform product development
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the positive pay and B2B fraud prevention landscape (bank operations, cores, common file formats, accounting system integrations) to inform strategy and differentiation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of product management experience in fintech/digital banking/SaaS, including 3+ years directly owning Check Positive Pay and/or ACH Positive Pay capabilities
  • Proven end-to-end ownership of exception processing products (from ingestion and validation through decisioning, approvals, notification, and audit/reporting)
  • Proven experience managing software development lifecycles in an Agile environment
  • Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, and experience leading Agile teams
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Working knowledge of NACHA rules, bank settlement practices, and ACH return handling; familiarity with UCC Articles 3/4/4A
  • Experience with Check Positive Pay (OCR pipelines, name-matching/fuzzy logic, threshold tuning) and check image standards (e.g., X9.37/I.C.L. familiarity a plus)
  • Understanding of file formats & transport: CSV/fixed-width mapping, BAI2 reporting, SFTP/PGP, webhooks/APIs for real-time exceptions
  • Background integrating with core banking systems and accounting/ERP platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) for issue file generation or APIs
  • Knowledge of entitlements/dual-control frameworks, step-up authentication, and audit/compliance best practices
  • Exposure to fraud analytics/ML signals, anomaly detection, and rules engines
  • Familiarity with adjacent bank systems (e.g., returns/chargeback workflows, case management, enterprise fraud tools)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Proficient in product management tools such as Jira, Confluence and ProductBoard
  • Proficient in collaboration tools such as Slack and GSuite
  • CTP certification is a plus
