Key responsibilities & impact

Define Alight’s AI strategy and translate it into a focused portfolio
Decide where Alight builds, partners, buys, and stops investing
Govern AI investment for cost per outcome
Mature the AI reference architecture into the operating standard
Shape an operating model balancing enterprise standards with speed and ownership
Lead a reusable platform for secure, reliable, repeatable AI development and operation
Oversee agentic foundations, orchestration, retrieval, knowledge access, and model selection
Lead evaluation, observability, and integration with enterprise data and services
Establish the AI Development Lifecycle with standards, testing, security, and quality gates
Deliver agentic AI-powered benefits experiences that help participants understand and act on their benefits
Own outcomes from shipping through adoption, reliability, and user experience
Scale intelligent automation across complex operational processes while preserving human oversight
Build responsible AI into solution design, evaluation, release, monitoring, and improvement
Partner with risk, security, privacy, legal, and compliance leaders on AI controls
Recruit, develop, and lead a world-class AI organization
Represent Alight’s AI strategy to clients, partners, executives, and the broader market

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven technology and AI leadership with real systems built, significant organizations led, and accountability for business outcomes
Experience leading a multi-team AI, machine learning, software, or platform organization through senior leaders
Experience deploying AI or complex technology products into production for a large user population with measurable value
Current fluency in generative AI, large language models, agentic systems, retrieval, evaluation, and production AI engineering
Experience building shared platforms or foundational capabilities used by multiple product and engineering teams
Experience owning a meaningful investment portfolio or budget and making build, buy, and partner decisions
Experience operating in a regulated, high-trust environment
Practical command of AI risk, privacy, security, and lifecycle governance
Experience recruiting and developing senior technical leaders
Essential technical depth in architecture, evaluation approaches, and production-ready systems
Successful completion of a background check if offered employment
Work authorization in the employing country without current or future visa sponsorship requirement
Ability to attend virtual interviews on video and occasional travel to a physical office location
