About the role
- The Senior QA/QC Material Engineer will play a critical role within DAR Engineering's Project Management Consultancy team, overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities related to materials used in the water network infrastructure project.
- The incumbent will ensure that all materials, products, and processes comply with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements, while maintaining the highest levels of quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead QA/QC and material engineering activities for a water network infrastructure project in Riyadh under PMC supervision.
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications and international standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, ISO).
- Review and approve material submittals, technical data sheets, and material approval requests.
- Oversee inspection, sampling, and testing of construction materials through site and third-party labs.
- Supervise QA/QC processes for key materials including pipelines (HDPE, DI, GRP, PVC), valves, and fittings.
- Review and ensure compliance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements.
- Evaluate and approve suppliers, conduct factory inspections, and ensure material traceability.
- Coordinate with PMC team, contractors, and stakeholders on all material-related quality matters.
- Monitor proper material storage, handling, and installation practices on site.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Maintain QA/QC documentation, material logs, and prepare quality reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to project Quality Management Systems (QMS) and reporting standards.
- Apply expertise in water transmission and distribution systems, including testing and commissioning requirements.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of infrastructure project requirements and Saudi regulations/standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering from a recognized university.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor and relevant QA/QC certifications.
- Minimum of Fifteen (15) years progressive experience in QA/QC roles, with a strong focus on infrastructure and water network projects.
- Prior experience with PMC/consultancy firms and major infrastructure projects is required.
- Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects (water, utilities, pipelines).
- Strong knowledge of: Material standards (ASTM, BS, AWWA, ISO) QA/QC procedures and audit systems.
- Expertise in reviewing: Material submittals ITPs, Method Statements.
- Proficient in QA/QC reporting tools and documentation systems.
