About the role
- Manage and execute the procurement of construction-related materials, equipment, and services in a cost-effective and timely manner
- Review technical specifications, BOQs, and drawings to identify material requirements
- Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on price, quality, delivery time, and compliance with project requirements
- Prepare RFQs, analyze quotations, and negotiate commercial and technical terms with suppliers
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy of terms, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align material deliveries with project schedules
- Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or documentation
- Maintain vendor records, and all procurement-related documentation
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, project-specific requirements, and local/international procurement regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure long-term value and reliability
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, suggest alternate materials or sources, and support value engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience in construction or contracting companies
- Strong understanding of construction materials, specifications, and project cycles
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in procurement software (ERP systems such as SAP, etc.)
- Knowledge of local and international markets and vendors
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
