About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in the analysis and reconciliation of accounts, verifying reported balances, identifying and correcting possible errors to ensure the accuracy of accounting operations;
  • Classify and assess expenses by examining their nature to allocate costs of goods and services and record the appropriate accounting entries;
  • Update the fixed-asset system, ensuring correct application of permanent asset control procedures, as well as depreciation and amortization, posting the required entries to profit and loss accounts in accordance with applicable technical and legal standards;
  • Maintain up-to-date control of equipment on loan (comodato) and investments made at the company’s stations and bases, and manage equipment inventory available in each region, providing information and producing various management reports;
  • Perform asset write-offs in cases of claims, donations, sales or obsolescence;
  • Be responsible for the accounting control of the company’s equipment, monitoring allocation, transfers between units, replacements, disposals, and other movements;
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts (Assets and Liabilities) as well as income statement accounts (Revenues and Expenses);
  • Provide technical support on accounting classification and cost-center allocation;
  • Prepare and send reports to related departments;
  • Identify ICMS reimbursement on petroleum credits;
  • Stay up to date on labor regulations that affect accounting;
  • File documentation under your responsibility in accordance with company policies;
  • Comply with company rules and procedures, proposing and implementing improvements, and being accountable for the quality, deadlines, reliability and performance of the services and information produced;
  • Organize and operate fixed-asset control systems, including verifying the existence and physical location of assets;
  • Support the design of plans to determine depreciation and depletion rates for tangible assets and amortization schedules for intangible assets, including deferred charges;
  • Control the dispatch of documents for archiving;
  • Provide necessary support for inspections and audits;
  • Provide technical and theoretical guidance on classification and accounting procedures;
  • Study matters related to Accounting and related areas;
  • Keep up to date with legislation;
  • Drive continuous improvements in your department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (active CRC registration)
  • Solid experience with financial statements
  • Relevant experience in audits
  • Experience with SAP
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Advantage: experience in industry
