About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Delivering value by coaching end users on product enhancements, surgical parameter optimization, intraoperative technique, and procedure changes.
- Demonstrating clinical expertise and reliability through a regular presence in the operating room with Alcon surgical equipment users.
- Execute product trials in the operating room or wet lab settings to showcase features, benefits, and functionality to Alcon equipment users.
- Maintain technical excellence in Cataract and Vitreoretinal Surgery, and ophthalmic surgical visualization through continuous learning.
- Provide primary support for troubleshooting during surgeries, ensuring smooth intra-operative experiences for end users.
- Generate leads, draft sales proposals, and lead the equipment sales process with a focus on meeting end users' needs.
- Document site visits accurately and promptly, capturing essential details to enhance customer support and outcomes.
- Support Alcon Employee Instrumentation training programs, contributing to the skill development of employees for improved overall performance.
- Serve as a clinical and technical expert to drive adoption of Alcon technology while completing all administrative responsibilities accurately and on time, including CRM updates, forecasting, and expense management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; preferred B.Sc., B. Comm.
- 5 years of experience in medical or surgical sales.
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Ability to organize and prioritize projects while allowing for flexibility.
- A thirst for action and introducing new technologies that improve patient outcomes.
- Demonstrated passion for learning, driven by curiosity.
- Expertise coupled with humility.
- Intrinsic motivation to help others.
- Demonstrated work ethic and leadership within a team.
- Preferred qualifications: 5+ years of sales success in teaching the use of medical devices in an OR environment, Ophthalmology equipment preferred.
- Strong knowledge in the area of Ophthalmic Surgery (anterior and posterior segment).
- Designation as Optometrist, Optician or Ophthalmic technician or 5+ years of Equipment Sales in Ophthalmology.
- Strong technical aptitude and the drive to understand complex subjects deeply to communicate them simply.
- A desire to shape the future of eye care by becoming a key player in training surgeons and end users on the optimal use of Alcon products.
