About the role
- Take charge of developing and executing 5-year/medium-term mine plans to ensure continuous sustainable bauxite supply to Western Australian refineries
- Lead creation of strategic mine plans aligned with long-term business goals
- Drive technical excellence in pit design, scheduling, and resource modelling
- Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, and technical specialists with strong safety and inclusion culture
- Collaborate with senior leaders to align planning with approvals, logistics, and business priorities
- Engage with regulators, community groups, and joint venture partners to ensure transparent, responsible planning
- Anticipate constraints, secure secondary approvals, and transform strategic direction into executable mine plans
- Support operations across multiple sites, based at the Mining Hub in Pinjarra with hybrid work from Perth office and some travel required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining, Geology, Environment, or related field
- Postgraduate qualifications desirable
- Extensive mine planning experience with strong track record in senior leadership roles
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams in complex environments
- Strong grasp of Australian mining regulations and environmental approvals
- Experience with mine planning software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac)
- Strategic influence and safety leadership
