About the role
- Develop and modify structural dynamics models using NASTRAN and FEMAP to support the design and validation of high-performance optical payloads, satellite structures including space qualification testing
- Conduct finite element analyses, including static, modal, vibration, and dynamics evaluations, to ensure structural integrity and mission readiness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with GNC, mechanical, and thermal engineers to validate models and align analysis with hardware design timelines.
- Contribute to detailed design efforts and prepare structural models for major reviews such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR).
- Be prepared to learn on the job and work hand in hand with an experienced dynamics engineer.
- Using AI, generate analysis tools such as APIs for FEMAP to optimize workflow

- Proficiency with NASTRAN and FEMAP (or equivalent FEA tools like Abaqus or Ansys).
- Solid understanding of structural modeling practices, material properties, meshing, and boundary conditions.
- Experience with static, modal, and frequency response analysis.
- Hands on experience in aerospace, optics, or high-precision structures.
- Experience with VLEO dynamics challenges such as atomic oxygen exposure or drag loading.
- Familiarity with test correlation and post-processing of dynamic test results.
- US citizenship or lawful permanent resident or protected individual or eligible for Department of State authorizations
- On-site full-time presence in Denver, CO (full-time on-site)
