About the role
- As Alan’s Risk Expert, you will be responsible for delivering automated, scalable risk assessment tools.
- Lead the enhancement and automation of our Solvency II balance sheet and capital requirement projections, covering health, life and disability lines of business.
- Model new and emerging risks as they arise (new insurance products, business lines, international expansion, investments, etc.).
- Challenge our risk appetite, propose relevant new risk metrics, and build tools to monitor them.
- Support preparation for board meetings and communicate with investors about capital evolution and market risks.
- Scale and automate the production of our regulatory quantitative reporting and contribute to our narrative reports (SFCR, RSR) and ORSA.
- Support our interactions with supervisory authorities.
- Assist in assessing international opportunities and help prepare market entry into new countries.
- Propose improvements to capital management across the four countries where Alan operates.
- Manage our reinsurance strategy to find the optimal balance between solvency and profitability, negotiate with reinsurance partners, and analyze reinsurance reporting.
- Create processes and resources to strengthen the team’s ability to understand our risk and capital constraints.
- Support the identification and hiring of new talent for the Insurance and Risk teams.
Requirements
- First-hand experience with the Solvency II regulatory framework, particularly Solvency II accounting; knowledge of health, life and market risks is a plus.
- Fluent in English and French for regulatory interactions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including strong data analysis capabilities.
- Ability to automate processes and build tools; programming skills are a plus.
- Meticulous and reliable in producing reports while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable learning new tools, technologies, and methodologies with a creative problem-solving approach.
