  • Building a vertically integrated health partner uniting insurance and smart healthcare delivery
  • Global Architecture team: merge country-specific codebases into global, configurable modules to enable global-first product development
  • Design Cross-Cutting Modules: transform country-specific implementations into global components
  • Remove Technical Blockers for Product Teams: tackle cross-domain technical blockers and eliminate team-specific workarounds
  • Orchestrate Data Transformations: harmonize different countries' data models and consolidate data into unified schemas
  • Build and Own What You Create: responsible for lifecycle from design to long-term maintenance; implement and maintain solutions
  • Focus on high-impact, cross-domain solutions and enable teams to build global-first features
  • Learn and share globalization patterns and expertise with other teams
  • Engineering team stack: Python/Flask, React, React Native, PostgreSQL
  • Work location: Anywhere in France, Belgium, Spain

Requirements

  • You write code and maintain what you build. At Alan there is no architect in an ivory tower, we implement what we design
  • You’re able to navigate complex systems spanning multiple business domains and technical boundaries
  • You've worked with diverse architectural patterns and can articulate the nuanced trade-offs between them
  • You can spot technical obstacles that are blocking multiple teams and design solutions that remove those obstacles
  • Problem-solver engineers with 5+ years of experience who get excited about simplifying complex business problems
  • You’ll be able to tackle high-impact & high-risk projects involving many engineers.
  • You’ll design efficient systems and engineering practices to align with and facilitate interactions between multiple teams/products.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to mentor other engineers & lead crews
  • You’ll be able to contribute to hiring your future coworkers and shape candidates’ hiring experience
  • Well-versed in Object Oriented Programming such as Python, Java, C#, and enthusiastic about web technologies such as modern Javascript.
  • Willing to work in Python/JavaScript (but you don’t need to have experience with those 2 languages!).
  • Passionate about building products.
  • Self-starting and entrepreneurial.
  • Humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority!).
  • Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching.
  • Fluent in English (no need to speak French!).
