About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols
  • Position patients accurately and operate mammography equipment safely
  • Verify patient identity, review clinical history, and explain procedures
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
  • Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, radiation safety, HIPAA, and applicable laws and policies
  • Assist with quality control tasks, equipment checks, and documentation
  • Ensure images are sent promptly and address workflow issues affecting interpretation turnaround time
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow infection control practices
  • Use Akumin EMR systems, Mammography Reporting Systems, PACS, and DICOM systems
  • Train and orient new technologists as needed
  • Complete annual and ongoing education, competencies, and in-services
  • Perform other duties assigned by leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certificate from College or Technical School
  • ARRT(M) certification and state license, if applicable
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Must have met initial requirements under MQSA standards
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements, including sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movement, and lifting or transferring non-ambulatory patients
  • Ability to comply with radiation safety, infection control, HIPAA, ACR, and MQSA requirements
