About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols
Position patients accurately and operate mammography equipment safely
Verify patient identity, review clinical history, and explain procedures
Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, radiation safety, HIPAA, and applicable laws and policies
Assist with quality control tasks, equipment checks, and documentation
Ensure images are sent promptly and address workflow issues affecting interpretation turnaround time
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow infection control practices
Use Akumin EMR systems, Mammography Reporting Systems, PACS, and DICOM systems
Train and orient new technologists as needed
Complete annual and ongoing education, competencies, and in-services
Perform other duties assigned by leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Certificate from College or Technical School
ARRT(M) certification and state license, if applicable
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Must have met initial requirements under MQSA standards
Strong customer service skills
Organizational and multitasking skills
Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
Ability to perform the physical requirements, including sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movement, and lifting or transferring non-ambulatory patients
Ability to comply with radiation safety, infection control, HIPAA, ACR, and MQSA requirements
