About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Greet and assist patients, customers, and visitors in person and over the phone
- Perform patient registration in various systems
- Answer phone calls professionally and courteously
- Collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility when applicable
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when applicable
- Perform preliminary patient screening, including medical history, before procedures
- Transport patients to and from exam rooms
- Assist with patient transfers on and off exam tables
- Provide preliminary and post-procedure instructions
- Prepare mobile units for transport when applicable
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Order supplies and ensure work areas are properly stocked
- Ensure accuracy of patient records and documentation
- Schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization
- Prepare medical records for physicians, patients, and customers
- Document patient visits in electronic systems and written documents
- Assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery
- Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology
- CPR Certification is a plus for Fixed Radiology
- Valid state driver's license required as applicable
- Ability to work at several locations required
- Strong customer service skills
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
- Local travel may be required to support multiple sites
- COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment
- Six months customer service or related experience and/or training preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
