About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Greet and assist patients, customers, and visitors in person and by phone
  • Perform patient registration in various systems
  • Answer phone calls professionally and courteously
  • Collect time-of-service patient responsibility when applicable
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when applicable
  • Perform preliminary patient screening, including medical history, before procedures when applicable
  • Transport patients to and from exam rooms
  • Assist with patient transfers on and off exam tables
  • Provide preliminary and post-procedure instructions
  • Assist with preparing mobile units for transport when applicable
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked work area
  • Order supplies when applicable
  • Ensure accuracy of patient records and documentation
  • Schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification or authorization when applicable
  • Prepare medical records for physicians, patients, and customers
  • Document patient visits in electronic systems and written documents
  • Assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery
  • Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology
  • Valid state driver's license required as applicable
  • Ability to work at several locations
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
  • Local travel may be required to support multiple sites
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen required
  • Six months customer service or related experience and/or training preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
