About the role
- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking two (2) Business Analyst Level 2 professionals to support various technology and innovation projects impacting daily DPS operations.
- The selected candidates will play a critical role in gathering and analyzing requirements, facilitating Agile project processes, and ensuring alignment with DPS’s mission, goals, and objectives.
- Responsibilities include:
- Facilitate the gathering and documentation of themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in accordance with DPS standards.
- Convert existing use cases into actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in Jira.
- Analyze existing process documentation to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Support project development teams and quality assurance processes in estimating story points for predictive level-of-effort models.
- Assist with development and implementation of initiatives to enhance agency effectiveness and compliance.
- Deliverables: Creation of themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned with DPS standards.
- Updated Jira entries for use cases.
- Process documentation with recommendations for efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- 4 years (Required): Experience as a senior-level Business Analyst in a technology-related field.
- 3 years (Required): Working knowledge of Agile project management methodology and practices.
- 1 year (Preferred): Experience in understanding and documenting use cases.
- 1 year (Preferred): Experience with process documentation and mapping.
