About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Integrating and leading the deployment of the API Security Platform and its components across diverse enterprise ecosystems.
Resolving deployment problems on Kubernetes platforms, Virtual Appliances, Cloud infrastructure, Networking, API gateways, Authentication flows, Hybrid architectures, Distributed applications.
Acting as a partner to customer engineering, DevOps, cloud, networking, or security teams to deploy and operationalize Akamai API Security Platform.
Analyzing API traffic to identify misconfigurations, authentication gaps, performance bottlenecks.
Supporting configuration of in/out-bound traffic sources for major API gateways and platforms (such as F5, Citrix, Apigee, Kong, NGINX, or MuleSoft).
Developing enterprise architecture diagrams, integration patterns, deployment plans, and operational runbooks.
Leading customer workshops, technical enablement sessions, and architectural reviews.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Possess an adequate technical role with over 6 years of experience and customer-facing skills.
Demonstrate extensive experience in architecting IaaS solutions for customers. Hold professional certifications from AWS/GCP/Azure/Oracle and/or CNCF.
Have experience troubleshooting distributed cloud-native applications and debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.
Utilize Virtualization, containerized environments like Kubernetes K8S, Openshift, Docker, Helm , or classic enterprise infrastructure systems (Linux, VMware/OVA hosting).
Possess hands-on experience with major cloud platforms AWS, Azure and IaC tools while understanding networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
Understand modern API technologies like RESTful APIs, OAuth/JWT, API authentication, and authorization; configure API gateways, ingress controllers, or WAF/WAAP.
Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to clearly explain complex technical concepts and explore AI-assisted development and innovative coding approaches.
