Working closely with other SREs to develop and implement statistical analytical tools to detect patterns in our existing monitoring and alerting systems
Improving our team's monitoring, alerting and emergency response procedures and maneuvers
Recommending viable technical solutions that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt
Monitoring, investigating, and analyzing platform performance and availability by (co)designing, managing, and tracking Akamai's platform-related SLIs/SLOs

Requirements

Be a current student in Computer science or a related field
Have experience with Linux/Unix-like operating systems
Have experience with programming or scripting such as Python through coursework or personal projects
Have knowledge with on writing queries on relational databases using SQL
Have knowledge about DNS and certificate management
Be interested in building alerting and trend detection tools
Enjoy troubleshooting problems across all layers
